Well after lots of head scratching and soul searching to give that super special mum in my life a gift to remember, I found myself slightly spoiled for choice when I came across all the experiences available at the Coloured Cob Equestrian Centre. There are vouchers available for every experience they offer and I’m contemplating either their mother/daughter (or son) joint trek with a free goody bag worth £14.99. They do treks from just 30mins up to 3hrs depending on your riding ability and such a huge range of horses to choose from. They have beautiful circular routes with breath-taking scenery. Or do I opt for the carriage ride experience through the stunning archaeological beauty spot of Creswell Crags. They have a stunning Clydesdale x welsh that I’m a little bit in love who loves to strut his stuff in his beautiful rural wagonette. Two or more can join the experience and again, mum receives a free goody bag. You can bring your own prosecco and the centre will provide champagne glasses during your carriage ride. Choices, choices, choices.

I’ve had a few lessons at the centre and can’t believe the range of fantastic horses there are to choose from. The centre is set in 50 acres and sits on a bridleway, so it’s all off road riding with stunning views and wildlife. Bank House Farm is over 400 years old and you can’t help enjoying the history of the place and the warm atmosphere when you arrive. The staff are so helpful and nothing really is too much trouble. It’s super friendly, yet professional without being intimidating. I just love it here!
